Mississippi Fellows Advance Racial Justice

“Whether we realize it or not, we’re actually experiencing racial solidarity through this fellowship.” ~ Fellow Zakiya Summers

Mississippi fellows Zakiya Summers, D’Andra Orey, Sunny Baker and Albert Sykes share how they are leading transformational change in their communities and how the fellowship is growing their leadership. Through the WKKF Community Leadership Network program, fellows are deepening their knowledge and skills, gaining tools, and strengthening their networks – and, as a result, are becoming more effective leaders in promoting racial equity and racial healing.

“Our work as WKKF Community Leadership Network fellows is constitutional work. It’s about expanding the definition of who are ‘we the people’ and protecting that definition to be inclusive of us all,” says fellow Albert Sykes.
